Dr. A. E. Perry is a Structural Innovation Demonstration Site

In order to improve student learning and engagement, we are focusing on: 1) teacher collaboration 2) flexible teaching arrangements and instructional groupings 3) interdisciplinary and inquiry based teaching and learning and 4) inclusive practices.

Students will experience P.A.W.S. time (Partners at Work). This exciting initiative means regular times when students will work in flexible groupings on inquiry learning projects. The inquiry approach favours student voice and choice over teacher selection and direction. Students will work together in authentic investigations with teachers as models and coaches. (Harvey & Daniels, Comprehension & Collaboration: Inquiry Circles in Action, 2009). We are excited to begin P.A.W.S.!

If you wish to learn more, please talk to your child's classroom teacher or contact Mrs. Miller. The School Community Council has purchased books which are available for parents or guardians to borrow if they wish to learn more.
